Jonathan E. Marks

November 21, 1980 - April 8, 2016

Jonathan "Jonny" E. Marks, age 35 of Bethel, passed away Friday April 8, 2016 in North Carolina.

A Bethel High School graduate (1998), Jonny then went on to serve our country in the Military. Jonny was Special Forces Medical Sergeant for the 3rd Special Forces Group serving multiple tours in Bosnia, Afghanistan and Iraq.  His awards include the Purple Heart, and the Army Commendation Medal of Valor. He was devoted to fitness, loved being outdoors and being active.  Jonny was always up for an adventure and known to never turn down a dare.  His greatest joy was time spent taking walks with his dog Gus and volunteering at local kennels.  He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Jonathan is survived by his parents Gary and Debra Marks; brother Adam Marks and his wife Kate, and their children Ryan and Addison also of Bethel, CT; sister Lynsie Marks of Danbury, CT along with several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends.

The family will receive friends at the Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Ave., Bethel, CT Wednesday April 13th from 5:00 to 8:00pm with a prayer service at 7:30pm by Pastor Robb Morris of Christ the King Lutheran Church. 

A graveside service will be held Thursday April 14th at 12:00 pm at Pine Grove Cemetery, 857 S Main St., Middletown, CT 06457.
