William H. Rice

William “Billy” Hale Rice

January 22, 1943 – June 16, 2021

On June 16, 2021 William “Billy” Hale Rice passed away at age 78 after his battle with cancer.  He was the son of Derwin Arthur Rice and Ruth Hale Rice.

Billy was born in St. Albans, Vermont on January 22, 1943, moved to Danbury, Connecticut as a teenager and later in life to New Milford, Connecticut. He spent most of his life in construction and always put his love and passion into everything he built.

The most important thing to him was his family and he cherished the time he spent with his 3 grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching NASCAR and the Red Sox’s, and had a passion for music. Billy loved entertaining family and friends at home, and will be remembered for his stories, little ditties and playing the spoons.

He is survived by his mother Ruth Rice, wife Theresa Crawford Rice, son’s Philip Rice (Courtney), Raymond Hadden, daughter Ann, grandchildren Jayden, Peyton, and Lydia Rice who were his pride and joy, sister Brenda Rice, niece Windi Stone who held a special place in his heart, many nieces, nephews, great & great-great nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family. He is preceded in death by his father Derwin Rice.

He is cherished and loved by his family & friends and will surely be missed.

A memorial will be celebrated at a later time.
