William LaHommedieu Obituary

William LaHommedieu, age 73 of Bethel, CT passed away July 1, 2020 at Regional Hospice in Danbury, CT.

William was born February 20, 1947 in The Bronx, NY a son of the late George and Margaret (Toolan) LaHommedieu. After attending DeWitt Clinton High School in the Bronx, William joined the U.S. Marine Corp, serving four years during the Vietnam War. He was employed for many years as a shipping and receiving manager at Nash Engineering in Norwalk, CT, and retired in 2015 from Preferred Utilities in Danbury.

Known as Billy by his friends and family, he enjoyed playing pool, loved music and spending time with friends. He became a regular at the former local hangout in Bethel, The Spot where he was known as ‘Billy from the Bronx’. He was an avid Yankee’s fan from childhood, when he used to ride in between train cars and sneak into Yankee Stadium to see Mickey Mantle play. He never left the house without his Yankee hat. William’s greatest love was his family and friends who will miss him dearly.

William is survived by two daughters; Jeanine Molnar and her husband Matt of Thomaston, CT; Jessica DiDomenico and her husband Jason of New Milford, a granddaughter he adored Liliana DiDomenico and his beloved sister Vera Sugar, and her husband Alan who now reside in Virginia. He also will be missed by his dozens of cousins, nieces and nephews.
