Virginia D. (Dodd) Wells

Virginia (Ginny) Wells, 96, passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2021 in Danbury, CT.

Ginny was born on March 9, 1925 in Cutchogue, NY, the daughter of Rev. Philip H. Dodd and Bertha (Hitchcock) Dodd.

Ginny was the loving wife for sixty-three years of the late Harry G. Wells, Sr. Ginny was the devoted Mom to and is survived by her two sons: Harry G. Wells, Jr., and his wife Jody (Botsford) Wells and their two daughters, Amanda Morgan and Christina Wells, of Charlotte, NC; and Thomas D. Wells, and his wife Patricia (Tracee) Sutton-Wells, and their son Patrick T. Wells, of New Milford, CT.

Ginny was predeceased by her seven siblings, Margaret Easton, Philip Dodd, Robert Dodd, Phyllis Dodd, Mary Zepp, Barbara Protheroe, and John Dodd.

Ginny graduated from Western Maryland College and began her teaching career shortly thereafter. Ginny taught second and third grade students at Hayestown Avenue Elementary School in Danbury for more than twenty years.

Ginny loved sharing the company of her family and friends, loved music and singing, and loved to watch the UConn womens basketball team.

There will be no calling hours at the funeral home. A date for a private memorial service will be determined by the family.

Contributions in Ginny’s name may be made to the Jesse Lee Memorial United Methodist Church in Ridgefield, CT.
