Steven I. Ferguson. Loving husband of Madilla (Kitty) Ferguson, died peacefully in his home on July 19, 2023. Steven was the youngest son born to Alice ( Van Wagner) and Frank Ferguson in Lewisboro, N.Y, on December 18, 1928. This past June he celebrated 73 years of marriage with his wife who was always by his side. Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and Great Great Grandfather. He was admired by all that knew him. His sense of humor, kind spirit and willingness to help anyone in need will always be remembered. A true family man, his legacy will continue with his large family.
For many years he was an avid bowler, loved watching horse races, talk shows, playing the lottery, and going to tag sales. He also enjoyed visits from his children, many grandchildren, and his granddogs.
He truly will be missed beyond words.
Besides his devoted wife of 73 years, he is survived by three children: Linda Taylor of Brookfield, CT, Steven I. Ferguson Jr. (Marita) of Bethel, CT, and Kathi Ostner (Chris) of New Milford, CT.
Thirteen grandchildren: Allison Miles (Ian), Nicole Davis (Kate), Ryan Taylor (Amy), Scott Taylor, Melissa Taylor, Alex Taylor (Hanna), Jeremy Taylor, Laura Ferguson Lisa Ferguson, Stephanie Ferguson, Christina Ostner, Gregory Ostner (Kaitlin), and Mark Ostner.
Six great grandchildren: Vanessa Baran (Carter), Joshua Miles, Sophia Miles, Brianna Miles, Sarah Taylor, Jacob Taylor, and great great grandson Beckett Baran.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son-in-law: James Taylor; brother: Frank Ferguson and sisters: Mary Alice Seri and Lois Donaldson.
The family will receive friends at the Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Ave., Bethel Tuesday, July 25, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.
