Seth "Sandy" Boughton

Seth Sanford “Sandy” Boughton, 80, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2023 at Danbury Hospital with his family by his side. 

Sandy was born in Danbury, CT on July 11, 1942 to the late Walter S. Boughton and the late Marian Sanford Boughton. 

Sandy is survived by his wife of 59 years, Susanne. He is survived by his daughters, Laura and her husband Jay, Heather, his granddaughters Sarah, Erin, and Wren, and his grandson, Jonathan. He is also survived by many cousins, sisters- and brothers-in-law, and his Aunt Helen. He is predeceased by his brother, Gene. 

Sandy attended Danbury schools and graduated from Henry Abbott Technical School. He received his associate degree from Western CT State University and his bachelor’s degree from the University of New Haven. He worked for SNET as an Outside Plant Engineer for 30 years before his retirement. 

Sandy enjoyed working on hot-rod cars as a teenager and went on to drive and fix many English sports cars. He enjoyed spending summer vacations on Cape Cod with his family. Most of all, Sandy enjoyed living on the lake and teaching his children and grandchildren how to waterski, fish, dive into the lake, and swim. He attended races, recitals, competitions, concerts, and graduations. 

Services will take place at the Congregational Church of Brookfield (CCB), Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Memorial Garden at CCB or a charity of your choice.
