Ruth A. (Staib) Nehez

Ruth A. (Staib) Nehez, age 78 of Bethel, CT died at her home on Thursday, March 7, 2024. She was the wife of John W. Nehez, mother of Darren J. Nehez and mother-in-law of Beth A. Nehez (Taryn and Maxwell).

She was born December 5, 1945 in Danbury, CT, daughter of the late Leonard E. Staib, Sr. and Mary E. (Haffner) Staib.  She was also predeceased by her brother, Leonard E. Staib, and her sister, Mary E. Bennitt.

Ruth enjoyed music, especially live music; whether it was Elvis, Kenny Chesney, the Nelson twins, or even her brother, two nephews, and son.  Or, on the radio, in the convertible.  Or, at home, on the jukebox.

She loved traveling with her AMAZING husband on cruises, to the national bowling tournaments, and to visit her AWESOME son and his MAGNIFICENT wife in North Carolina.

NASCAR, Martin Truex, Jr., bingo, laying in the sun by the pool, the hot tub, Presley, Mohegan and Foxwoods slot machines...These are a few of her favorite things.

Ruthie loved her friends, and her friends loved Ruthie.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her step-sons, John Mickey Nehez and his wife, Theresa (Julia and Krista), and Kevin Nehez and his wife, Sandy (Liam), and her brothers, George Staib and his wife, Cynthia, and Gary Staib and his wife, Gwen.

The family will receive friends at the Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Ave., Bethel, Wednesday, March 13, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

The funeral will be held at the United Methodist Church of Bethel, 141 Greenwood Ave., Bethel, Thursday morning March 14 at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Bethel.
