Robert E. Morrarty, age 72, of Danbury, CT died Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at Danbury Hospital.
He was born in Milford, CT, December 27, 1948, son of the late Harold E. Morrarty, Jr. and Doris (Sherwood) Morrarty.
He is survived by his ex-wife Sandy Prebenna. His sons Steven (wife Erin) and Brian. Sister Shirley Budney, long time friend and companion Kathy Sivertsen and her daughters Noell Sivertsen and Kirsten Tracey. Many many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.
Bob graduated from Danbury High School in 1966. Drafted into the Army, he received the Purple Heart from his time in Viet Nam. A member of Miry Brook Fire House since he was 16 and still a member at the time of his death. A charter member of Candlewood Valley Corvette Club. Along with his love of Corvettes, he also was involved with the Midlife Crisis Racing Team, going to Nascar races, a member of American Freedom Fighter Motorcycle Club. Bob worked as a track worker for S.N.Y.R.A. at the Danbury Fair and helped at the reunions. A truck driver for Pace Transport, Mucherino Brothers and a tanker driver for Mitchell Fuel.

The family will receive friends at the Hull Funeral Home, 60 Division St., Danbury, Sunday afternoon from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. Attendees are required to wear facial masks while in the funeral home.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at Ridgebury Cemetery, Ridgefield, CT Monday at 11:30 Am. Attendees are asked to gather directly at the cemetery.
