Reis Fitch, age 74, passed away at home on Saturday, January 15, 2022. He is survived by Sandy, his wife of more than 50 years, his son RJ, his grandchildren Olivia and Owen, daughter Misty Johndro, his son-in-law Alex Johndro. He also leaves behind a sister, Avis, a niece Sandra, and was predeceased by his parents Joy and Lincoln as well as his sister Marla. He also leaves behind a best friend, John Sgobbo.
Reis was a machinist and all around Mr Fix-It. He recently retired after working 34 years fixing machines for the US Postal Service. He was also a Vietnam Era Army Veteran who served his country after being drafted. He would run only twice in his life… in boot camp and to the hospital to see his grandchild after their birth.
He welded, repaired cars, built tree forts and collected more tools than a hardware store. He loved state fairs, his Model A and a cold Pepsi. Everyone in his life learned a skill from him and his incredible knowledge will be missed.
A memorial service will take place on Saturday, January 22 at 2:00pm at Hull Funeral Home, 60 Division St, Danbury, CT.
Interment at the Connecticut State Veteran’s Cemetery in Middletown, Connecticut will take place at a later date.
