Raymond LaBree Obituary

Raymond E. LaBree, age 86 originally of West Redding, CT, passed away peacefully Tuesday November 14, 2023 at Maplewood of Stony Hill, Bethel. He was the loving husband of the late Barbara D. LaBree, whom he wed on April 13, 1963. They spent 56 amazing years together in marriage raising their three children.

He was born in Guildford, ME, July 16, 1937, son of the late John E. LaBree and Maude (Sawyer) LaBree.   Raymond spent most of his adult life educating and mentoring many individuals during his years at Joel Barlow High School until his retirement in 1996.   Prior to moving to CT he was a teacher in Thomas River, NJ where he ultimately met and courted his beloved wife, Barbara.  He was a gentle soul who found the good in everyone. Raymond was a wonderful, caring father, grandfather, and friend. He was a strong and independent individual who worked hard and lived life to its fullest.

Raymond is survived by his son: Shepard LaBree and his wife Amy of Bethel, CT; daughters: Julie Fenton and her husband Scott of Clearfield, PA, Jean Giardino and her husband Lloyd of Brookfield, CT; sister: Mallory Ball; and 5 grandchildren: Gavin, Dylan, Jenna, Christopher, and Bennett.  He was preceded in death by his brother Ronald LaBree and sister Laurel Cover.

A Private graveside service was held at Redding Ridge Cemetery, Redding on Saturday, November 18, 2023. There were no calling hours.

A Celebration of his life will be held in the spring at a time to be announced.
