Peter D. Scott, 75, of Bethel, CT passed away at Danbury Hospital with his loving wife of 35 years, Marsha Scott, by his side. Pete was born in Danbury to Lorraine (McClure) and Edward Scott and was a graduate of Henry Abbott Technical School, where he trained to be a mechanic by trade and continued his career with CL&P until he retired.
Pete was a Harley Davidson enthusiast and could be found out riding or in his garage, spending time working on his own motorcycles as well as others’ motorcycles and vehicles. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and following his favorite sports teams - the NY Yankees and NY Giants. He enjoyed country music and sipping his ice tea - lemonades while working around the yard, keeping everything beautiful and vibrant. He also enjoyed spending time with his wife, his family, and friends.
Pete loved all things Disney and traveled to Walt Disney World on vacations more than 30 times with Marsha. He was deeply patriotic and was an avid historian, especially enjoying travel with his wife to historical sites such as Gettysburg and going on several historical River Boat cruises together.
In addition to his wife Marsha, Pete is also survived by his stepson, Stephen Gilbertie and his wife Jennifer, as well as his two grandchildren, Dylan and Kayla Gilbertie, all of Bethel. He is also survived by a brother, Michael Scott of Georgia and his two aunts Emma Jane Andrews of Maine and Elsie Palmer of Danbury, CT and dear “cousins” Lorraine and John Sayas of Knotts Island, NC. And not to be forgotten, Pete will be missed by Casey, their beloved golden retriever.
The family will receive friends at the Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Ave., Bethel, Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, Bethel, Thursday morning at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Bethel.
