Olive M. (Macbeth) Freeman

Olive Macbeth Lee Freeman, a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at the age of 104 in New Milford, CT. Born December 10, 1918 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of Kenneth and Olive Dumas Macbeth.

She was married to the late Donald Beckley Lee II for 43 years. They moved to New Milford in 1947 from Berkley, CA and together they raised 6 children.

Olive was preceded in death by a daughter: Michele M. Lee, son: Michael S. Lee, second husband:  Carroll Freeman and grandson: Grant Francis Afra.

Olive is survived by a son: Donald B. Lee, III (Dara) of Atlanta, GA; three daughters: Catherine O. Lee and Mary T. Carter of Elgin, TX; and Jeanine P. Lee of Woodbury, CT; 11 Grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.

While her family was young, she became an active member of ST. Francis Xavier Church and community, where she raised her family and built life-long friendships. As a parishioner, she served as a Eucharistic Minister for many years and provided spiritual counseling to the parish and community.

Services are entrusted to Hull Funeral Service, 60 Division St., Danbury where calling hours will be Thursday from 9:30 to 11:00.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Church on Thursday at 11:30. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery, New Milford.
