Nora M. (Smith) Fry

Nora Mary Smith Fry passed away October 2nd, 2021, peacefully at the Glen Hill/Genesis Center. She died at age 97 of old age and got close to her goal of making it to 100.

Nora was born in New York City on July 25, 1924, to James and Mary (Campbell) Smith. Her parents were Irish immigrants who came to this country for a better life. Mom proudly graduated from High School in NY City and then worked during WWII in various companies in NYC as a Secretary. She met and then married George W. Fry, who was in the US Air Force, on February 16, 1946 in NY. She was married 45 years until his death. Nora loved all the travel and military life.

Upon retirement, Nora and George moved to Bethel, CT. Nora worked for Connor Engineering for many years and for Robin Brundage Electrical Contractors after that. She enjoyed quilting, knitting and spending time with friends and family.

Nora is survived by her two daughters: Deborah Brundage and Doreen Cralley; son-in-law Bruce Cralley; five grandsons: Daniel George Kramer, Eric Kramer, Danny Kramer, Rob Brundage, Jr., Scott Brundage; grand daughter-in-law: Lorraine Brundage; many great grandchildren and a whole family of Irish cousins in Ireland and the US. Nora is also survived by dear friends who are like family: Sadie and Richard Virtudes and Fred Ray. Her friends are too many to be mentioned but knew her love and devotion. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son: George, Jr.; sister Patricia Smith; son-in-law Robin Brundage and grandson Ricky Kramer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Gregory the Great Church, Danbury, Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Bethel. The family will greet friends at the church.
