Obituary

Margaret Catherine Zegarelli was born October 28, 1949 to the late Andrew and Mary Krasko. She passed away on the evening of July 30, 2023 with her family by her side.

Margaret grew up in Yonkers with her parents and two sisters. She met the love of her life, Guy, when she was 15. They married in 1970 and moved to New Fairfield, Connecticut where they raised their two children, Guy and Tracey. She was a proud and devoted mom, as well as a doting Mema to her four grandchildren Michaela, Jack, Guy, and Haley, who were her heart and soul.

Margaret was the epitome of kindness and always put others before herself. She cared deeply for everyone in her life. She taught us to be kind and love deep from within our heart, and to smile because everyday life brings us a brand new start. Margaret loved to write. She wrote poems for almost everyone that was dear to her, as well as the many life experiences and emotions she endured. Margaret put a smile on everyone’s face with her kind, caring nature and witty one liners.

Margaret will forever be missed by her husband, Guy Zegarelli Sr: her son Guy Zegarelli Jr. and daughter-in-law Melissa: her daughter Tracey Cote and son-in-law Brian: her two granddaughters Michaela Zegarelli and Haley Cote: her two grandsons Jack and Guy Zegarelli: her sister Andrea Figura and brother-in-law Ray: her late sister Carol Gonzalez and brother-in-law Richie: and her nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Our Margaret, Mom, Mema, Mags, Maggie, Sissy, Sis wrote us a final poem and said, “It was my time to go, my body was tired, and there was no fight left to give. I left my heart there with all of you filled with love for as long as you may live. My heart will beat forever!”

She will forever live on in our hearts. Join us in a Celebration of Life in November. Details to follow.
