Louis Caraluzzi Obituary

Louis P. Caraluzzi

On Wednesday, January 13, 2021, Louis passed from this part of his life to the next. He leaves his wife Rosemarie (Rubino)- the love of his life - and his devoted family.

Lou started out with his father at Bethel Food Market in 1945; graduated from Bethel High School; and went on to own and operate Dodgingtown Market in the 1960's, 70's and 80's.  But his greatest success and joy was his family.

Louis was born in the Bronx on January 28, 1933 to the late Anthony and Julia Caraluzzi.  He is survived by his wonderful wife Rosemarie - who together recently celebrated their 65th anniversary on September 25, 2020. Louis is also survived by his two children Diane (Fred) Baumer and Deacon Tony (Debbie) Caraluzzi.

Louis was also loved and admired by his six grandchildren: Fred (Shelby); Tina (Chris); Ricky (Stephanie); Jennifer, Valerie (Joe); and Nina (Steve); by their seven great-grandchildren: Louis, Mia, Dean, Adrian, Scarlett, Jane, and Grace - as well as his many nieces and nephews who looked-up to him as their "Uncle Louie".

Louis was predeceased by his brother Edward, and is survived by his sister-in-law Pamela, and his two brothers Robert (Carol) and Anthony Jr. (Roberta)

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Church, Bethel. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Bethel.
