Jeannette Reynolds was born on April 8, 1953 in Norwalk, CT to the late Carl and Leah Boston. She passed away on the morning of July 13, 2023 after a courageous two-year battle with brain cancer.
Jeannette grew up with her parents and three sisters in Norwalk. She attended college at Quinnipiac University and then transferred to Southern Connecticut State University where she received her teaching degree and met her best friend and future husband, Jim.
Jeannette and Jim married in 1974 and went on to raise their three children in Bethel, CT. After staying home to care for her children for many years, Jeannette returned to work as an educator. She was a teacher, substitute coordinator, and was named the 2008 “Pillar of the Year” for Bethel Schools. She loved helping others and took pride in providing children with the best opportunities to succeed. Anyone who worked with Jeannette will forever remember her as a caring and patient educator who did everything with dedication and grace.
Jeannette was a devoted mother, loving wife, supportive sister, and a true friend, but her biggest accomplishment was being grandmother, “Nan”, to her seven grandchildren. Sienna, Ally, Jimmy, Jack, Joey, Johnny, and Daisy were her world. They traveled, played, and explored together. Nan cheered them on at ballgames and dance recitals, drove them to school, taught them to bake and garden, and how to ride bikes and skip rocks at the beach. She would jump into swimming pools and bravely ride roller coasters on vacation at Hershey Park. She was the best grandmother a child could ever ask for.
In addition to her grandchildren, Jeannette will be forever missed by her three children, Elizabeth (Vinny Leto), Jimmy (Sarah), and Kathleen (Johnny Hoey). Her three “little sisters” Carol Boston, Laurie (Peter Forcellina), and Lynn (John Lynch), 12 nieces and nephews, her high school friends known as the “Yaya Sisters”, and her lifelong friends, especially Michelle Audia who moved in with Jeannette to care for her when she became ill.
Jeannette was greeted in heaven by her husband Jim, whom she missed very much since his sudden passing in 2018.
Jeannette lived her life surrounded by people young and old who loved her immensely. Her beautiful smile and warm presence will be missed forever. We are all so proud to call her our mom, Nan, sister, aunt, and friend.
