Frank Moretti

Frank Moretti, of Redding, CT, died Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at the age of 101. Frank was born in Torrington, CT and grew up in the Bronx, NY.

From an early age, Frank was interested in airplanes and learning to fly. He earned an Education degree from CCNY, but realized his dream to be a pilot when he enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1943. During the war, Frank was part of a B-29 crew that trained other flight crews. After an honorable discharge, Frank was hired by Pan American Airlines. His 34 year career was a great experience, flying many aircraft and traveling throughout the world.

Frank shared his life with his wife Norma. They grew up together and married in 1950. As long-time residents of Redding, they shared a love of family and travel for nearly 72 years, until Norma’s death in 2021.

Frank is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Ellen and Peter Kushar, grandson Matthew, and many family members and friends who loved his zest for life.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick Church, Redding, and burial will follow at Redding Ridge Cemetery on Friday, June 3, 2022 at 11:00 am.
