Florence R. (Ross) Hull

Florence (Ross) Hull age 93, died peacefully at Filosa Nursing Home, in Danbury CT on February 23, 2021.

Born on April 3, 1927 to Philip and Jennie Ross, Florence was a life-long resident of Danbury, CT where she raised four children.  She attended Danbury schools and worked at the Danbury News Times before becoming the secretary at Hull Funeral Service in Danbury where she worked for many years before retiring.

Florence was happiest when surrounded by family, her smile and laugh were infectious, she will missed dearly by all that knew her but especially her children and grandchildren.  

Florence is survived by her children: Wayne Gallo of Danbury CT, Patricia Murphy and her husband James of Danbury, Francis Gallo and his wife, Patricia of Southbury and Sandra Gallo of Waterbury. She is also survived by her grandchildren and great grandchildren; Jennifer Murphy-Pitcher, her husband Michael and their children Logan and Connor of Southbury, Monica Raffone her husband Jay and their children Maddie and Abbie of Prospect, CT and Audra Cartelli, her husband Chris and their children Parker and Beckham of Ridgefield CT.  She was pre-deceased by her parents, her sisters Mary Starbard and Rosemarie Symonds, her brother Anthony Ross and her husband Robert Hull.   In addition to step-children and their families, Florence is also survived by numerous, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Gregory the Great Church, Danbury, Monday morning at 11:00 Am. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
