Donald Edwin Mead Jr., 69, of Bethel, died Aug. 23, 2022, at Danbury Hospital after a short but valiant battle with liver cancer.
He was born July 1, 1953, in Danbury, CT, son of the late Donald E. Sr. and Dorothy (Tucker) Mead. A graduate of Danbury High School, he was a lifelong area resident. A music photographer, Don was part of the early NY punk scene and friends with the Ramones and Cheetah Chrome of the Dead Boys and managed Cold War Productions. He enjoyed his Harley-Davidsons and annual trips to Las Vegas for the NASCAR races.
He is survived by his daughter and husband, Brooke and Isael Pimentel of Kingston, NY, and grandchildren Ezra, Celine and Silas; his brother and wife, Edward and Ursula Mead of Danbury; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Terry Mead.
The family will receive friends Monday, Aug. 29 from 11:00 AM to Noon at the Hull Funeral Home, 60 Division St., Danbury, followed by a graveside service in Wooster Cemetery next to his parents. Contributions in his memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
