Cindy (Holmes) Tyrseck, 65, of Danbury, passed away on Dec. 31, 2021 after a long battle with cancer.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 11:00 Am at First Congregational Church of Danbury. A reception will follow the service at the church.
Cindy is survived by her husband, Rick; son Brian (Jennifer) Tyrseck and grandson James and Lucas; sister Belinda (John) Battista; brother John (Omeka Krongelb) Holmes; and nephew and nieces, Sam and Alec Battista, Malana Krongelb, and Andrew Holmes (Rachel Wimberly) and great nephew Ezra.
Cindy was born on April 13,1956 to the late John and Helen (Hanson) Holmes in Danbury. After graduating from Danbury High School in 1974, she went on to study Business Education and Accounting at Central Connecticut State University.
After graduation, she landed her first job as a Business Education teacher at Danbury High School. She then enjoyed a 40-year career in insurance, first at John Hyatt Associates and later New Milford Insurance. She received a Masters degree in Marketing from Western Connecticut State University in 1984.
Cindy and Rick were married in 1980 and enjoyed over 41 years of marriage. They loved to travel and vacation on Cape Cod and at Disney World.
Cindy was a lifelong member of First Congregational Church in Danbury, where she ran the church school program for more than 30 years. After retiring in 2019, Cindy spent her time knitting, volunteering at Church, and playing with her grandson James.
