Betty J. Rubino

Betty J. Rubino, aged 90 of Bethel, Connecticut passed away peacefully surrounded by her daughters. Betty was born in Turrell, Arkansas; her parents were W.R Gregory and Jessie Gregory of Earle, Arkansas. She is predeceased by her husband of 64 years Gennaro “Gene” Rubino, her daughter Susan Ann Rubino, and her three sisters Sophie Miller, Ann Ross, and Margaret Case. She is survived by her daughters Beth Rubino and Margie DaMota, sons-in-law Kurt Boyce and Glenn DaMota, grandsons Brennan and Brian DaMota, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Betty moved to Connecticut in 1955[kb2] , where she met her husband, Gene. They were married in 1957 and resided in Bethel for 64 years until his death in 2021. Betty enjoyed having dinner with Gene and the Rubino family on weekends at the Stony Hill Inn, which was owned by the family. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren, watching the New York Yankees, and westerns on TV. She was well known for her beautiful needlepoint work, her awesome tomato sauce, and was especially sought after for her tallerina—a specialty dish of her own creation.
Betty was deeply loved by family and friends and will be greatly missed.
