Bernardine Gagnon

Bernardine L. Gagnon, age 78 of Hamden, CT passed away on January 10, 2021 She is Survived by her sisters Gerri Warner (Bill), Judith Bartek both of Bethel, nephews Erik Bartek (Carly) and their children, Niall, Kailee, Layne and Nakoda of Naugatuck, Ron, Heidi Warner and their children Grace and Jack of Culpeper, VA, Sean and Mary Jo Warner and their Children Allison and Adam of York, PA, cousins Gilbert Chrunka (Louise and Linda Munoz (Harry) of Florida.

After graduating from Bethel High School, Bern worked for Bethel Parks and Recreation. She then re-located to New Haven and attended Southern Connecticut State University. She was later employed at High Meadows in Hamden, a facility for emotionally challenged children, as supervisor for 25 years.

Bernardine was a “sports nut” and a devout New York Yankee and Uconn Huskies fan. As a young woman she played fast pitch softball at first base for the Bethel Debs.

Bern was an animal lover and adored her little dachshund Jack. After his passing she acquired another faithful friend Andy, also a dachshund, who will live out his life with Bern’s friend Liz.

Bern was known for her sense of humor witty quip and nicknames that she gave to family member and friends. She loved music, sang in school and church choir and occasion played guitar and sang on WALD in the 1960’s with her sister Gerri.

Bernardine enjoyed trips to PA, Cape Cod and VT. She was a totally selfless and loving family member and friend. She will truly be missed .
