Audrey Kate Ann (Doner) Sears

Audrey Ann Sears, well known as Kate, passed away peacefully of natural causes on July 28, 2024 at the age of 81.

Kate was born to Agnes and Richard Audette on Sept. 27, 1942 in the town of St. Albans, VT. She spent her childhood in the area of St Albans, and met her future husband, Marshall, there when she was a teenager.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Agnes and Richard Audettte, brother Jake Donor, and her beloved son Rickie Allen Sears. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Marshall Sears, sister Patricia Baker, daughter Michele (K Moore) Sears, sons Randy (Deena) Sears, Michael (Darlene) Sears, Ty (Kim) Sears, adored grandchildren: Lexi Sears, Ty Cole Sears, Amanda (Elias) Scimeca, Sydney Sears, and Russell Sears.

Kate and Marshall were married on Sept. 10, 1960 and spent most of their lives together raising their five children in the small town of Kent, CT. She was known as "mom" to most of the local children in that town through the 70's and 80's. They often referred to her vehicle as "Kate's taxi" because she toted the local children around to their sporting events. Kate loved people and never met a stranger, and is probably why she loved Bingo so much. She was also known as "Kate the Cleaning Lady" because her entire career was based on housekeeping. She loved her work and the people that she worked for. Some became as close as family to her.

She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and true friend to many. Cynthia Gustafson, Maryann Weeks, and Susan "Wojo" Wojciechowski are just a few to mention that will truly miss her. Susan was there just about everyday to care for Kate at the end of her life and was truly a godsend for her.

We will truly miss you Mowzer. This world is a lesser place without you.

Celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Hull Funeral Service, Danbury is handling the cremation arrangements.
