Anthony Lombardi, Jr. Obituary

Anthony John (AJ) Lombardi, Jr. died unexpectedly on Friday March 13, in Danbury, CT.

AJ was born on May 12, 1969 in Danbury, to Anthony and Paula Lombardi. He attended Danbury schools and was a graduate of Danbury High School. AJ joined the Danbury Volunteer Fire Department during High School and then went on to become a career firefighter in Ridgefield, CT, where he became the youngest Lieutenant in the state at that time. After 18 passionate years he retired and was most recently a delivery manager for Superior Plus Energy Services where he spent several years.

He lived in Bethel with his wife and children. AJ was well loved everywhere he went (except doctor and dental offices, as he was a terrible patient!), and was known for cracking goofy jokes. While not known for his fashion sense, AJ was known for his compassion and willingness to help others. AJ loved playing golf, playing billiards with his wife, spending time with his family and watching any kind of sports. He especially loved the New Jersey shore and body surfing in the waves.

He is survived by his wife Tracy (Kroha) of Bethel and his six children, Brittany, William, Tyler, Elizabeth, Isabella and Lauren. AJ predeceased his parents, John and Paula Scozzafava of Danbury, CT, as well as siblings, Joey and John Scozzafava (Carol), Michael Lombardi (Meg), Alan Lombardi, Gregg Lombardi (Jill), Cindy Hawley (Gary), Craig Lombardi and Missy Russell (Todd) and his many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Ave., Bethel, Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

A graveside service will be held at Elmwood Cemetery, Bethel, Thursday morning at 11:00 AM. Family and friends are invited to gather directly at cemetery.
