Anthony Chiodo 12/3/1922 - 1/15/2022.
NOTE: The Mass originally scheduled for Saturday the 29th has been rescheduled to Friday, January 28, 2022 at 4:00 PM, due to pending snowstorm..
Tony has been called to the dance floor, after a brief illness, for his last dance with wife Mary who pre-deceased him by fifteen years. Also at the heavenly dance party are his parents, Frenchy and Chicky, his siblings Philomena, Joanna, and John, his nephew Jay, and many, many friends and extended family. He is survived by his sister-in-law Phyllis; his children Mary of New Milford, CT; Dr. Anthony and his wife Wendy of Grass Lake, MI; John and his wife Joan of Dobbs Ferry, NY; Louisa and her husband Andrew of Sharon, CT; William and his wife Deborah of St Johns, FL; his twelve amazing grandchildren and eleven incredible great-grandchildren, eight wonderful nieces and nephews and their families; and many close friends including Liz, his "lunch bunch", and senior center buddies.
Before retirement, Tony worked as a guidance counselor at Ridgefield High where he helped teens discover their passions and chase their dreams. Tony was blessed to continue to live independently and enjoyed having lunch at his favorite restaurants and going to shows at Brookfield Theatre. He believed there was never a bad time to dance, send a card, or bake cookies. He was generous in the extreme and actively involved in his Catholic faith.
A celebration Mass for Tony will be held on Friday (the new date), Jan. 28 at 4:00 PM at Our Lady Of The Lakes Church, 3 Old Town Park Rd, New Milford, CT.
In lieu of flowers, please honor Tony by planting a tree, bake some cookies and share them, go out to lunch and give a generous tip, or donate to your favorite charity.
