Annette Claire Lynch, 96 passed away peacefully on July 10, 2024, at Spring Village in Danbury after a long and hard-fought battle with dementia. She will be deeply missed and forever loved by her family and friends and those that knew her are grateful for the precious moments that were spent together.
Annette was a longtime resident of Bethel, CT but also lived in Dade City, FL and most recently Danbury, CT. Born in Detroit on December 23, 1927, the third of five children born to Agnes Geoghegan of Irish descent, a bookkeeper from Detroit, Michigan and Francis Gardner Hodson, an English immigrant and carpenter by trade. The family moved to Stratford, CT and she graduated from Harding High School in Bridgeport in 1945 and Bridgeport Hospital Nursing School in 1948 and worked for many years in nursing at Kingsbridge Veterans Hospital (Bronx NY)(1948-51), Jacksonville Hospital (FL)(51-52), Keating Convalescent Home (Danbury)(52-53), Danbury Hospital as a Staff Nurse (54-55 & 63-71) & Asst. Director of Nursing (71-77). She also worked as a dental asst for Dr Raymond Zimmer (79-82) and then worked part time with Bethel Visiting Nurse in the 80's. She was a long time member of St. Mary's Church in Bethel and had a strong religious faith. She loved her family, home and neighbors who she watched over and who watched over her. She enjoyed simple things in life, such as reading, visiting with neighbors and friends and gardening.
Annette is survived by her four children and their spouses, Tim Lynch of Danbury, Ken Lynch and Nancy Sheehan of Sandy Hook, Mike and Lucy (Gainsback/Lipomi) Lynch of Newtown, Kathy Galbis of Bethel as well as her grandchildren Nick & Kasey Galbis of Bethel; Peter Lipomi of Centennial, CO; Hannah (Lipomi) Stout of Sanford, ME; Kelly Sheehan of Cranston, RI, Chris Sheehan of Newtown, CT and great granddaughter Cameron Sheehan of Mamaroneck, NY as well as her sisters Dorothy Vining of Danbury, Dolly Johnson of Port Charlotte, FL. and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Thomas Lynch and her brothers Robert (Bob) & Ernie Hodson, granddaughter Jessica Galbis and grandson Colin Sheehan.
The Bethel Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church, 26 Dodgingtown Rd, Bethel, CT on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Bethel.
