Alice M. (Wenzel) Selleck

Alice May (Wenzel) Selleck, age 98, of Newtown, CT died Friday, December 30, 2022 at her home. She was the widow of Harry James Selleck, Jr.

She was born in Norwalk, CT, September 4, 1924, daughter of the late Harry and Elsie (Bartley) Wenzel. She was raised in Norwalk, where she graduated from Norwalk High School, class of 1941. In 1944 she enlisted in the US Coast Guard, serving during WWII until her discharge in 1946. Alice and Harry were married in 1950, moving to Bethel in 1960 where they raised their family. She was an Executive Secretary at Heli Coil in Danbury until her retirement and spent her later years in Newtown.

Alice is survived by her son: David A. Selleck and his wife Diane of Newtown, CT; a sister: Cecilia Gwizdak of Ramona, CA; 5 grandchildren: Sara DaMico, Rita Hawley, Thomas Selleck, Jason Selleck and Jillian Selleck; 7 Great Grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by daughter: Barbara Selleck, and sons: Gary & Richard Selleck.

There are no calling hours. Services with military honors will be private at St. Mary Cemetery, Bethel, CT.
