Stanley Marc Faust, age 60, of Danbury, CT passed away peacefully on Monday, August 13, 2018 at Danbury Hospital. He was born in Norwalk, CT, on September 10, 1957, son of Dorothy R. (Didato) Faust of Danbury, and the late Ernest G. Faust, formerly of Bethel and Texas.
In addition to his mother, Stanley is survived by his brothers and sisters: Randy Faust and his significant other Beverly of Maryland, Ernest Faust and his wife Jane of Bethel, Nancy Wildman and her husband Kenneth of Danbury, his TWIN brother Steven Faust and companion Veronique, and sister-in-law Yuko of Germany, Stacey Faust and his significant other Cori of Bethel, Sherrie Mishico and her husband Stanley of Brookfield, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Stanley grew up in Bethel where he loved his paper route and his job as a cafeteria worker at Bethel High School. On Sept. 13, 1981 Stanley had a fall and broke his neck which left him paralyzed as a quadriplegic, and after much rehabilitation he lived at home under the loving care of his mother and father until he went to live at St. John Paul II Center in Danbury on October 8, 1985. As this became Stanley's new home he was an avid bridge and chess player, a huge sports fan, and he loved to be outside and feed the ducks at the pond there. He eventually became the President of the Resident's council. He never talked about his handicap, he never let it get him down and he was an inspiration to all he met. He will be missed by many.
The family will receive friends on Saturday morning August 18th at 10:00 AM at the Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Ave., Bethel, CT with a short service at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at the Elmwood Cemetery, Dodgingtown Rd, Bethel.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. John Paul II Center, Resident's Council, 33 Lincoln Ave., Danbury, CT 06810.
