Maureen T. (Forgarty) Gilbride

Maureen Terese Gilbride, born Maureen Terese Fogarty in NY, NY,  passed away on September 9, 2019. She was executive secretary to the President of NBC in Rockefeller Center in NY in the late 40’s and early 50’s, at a time when eighteen year old women rarely entered that level of professional achievement.  Maureen is survived by three children and their spouses. Christine and Robert Sturgess of Bethel, CT; Daniel Gilbride of Portland, Oregon and Justin and Carrie Gilbride of New Fairfield, CT.  Other loved relatives she leaves behind include her grandchildren, Delaney and Mitchell Gilbride, her sister-in-law Nancy Fogarty her niece and nephew, Lynn and Glenn Fogarty and her beloved cousin John Tighe.  She will be missed by her other nieces and nephews including Kathleen and James Cullinan, Jim, John and Richard Cowan as well as their families. She is preceded in death by her husband Daniel F. Gilbride.  Maureen was a longtime reside of Redding, CT.

She lived with great fortitude in the face of adversity, and never lost her keen sense of humor or compassion for all people.  She will join her beloved brother Kevin in heaven.  Rest in peace, Maureen
