Louise Veronica (Pfrinder) Rieve, age 86, daughter of Emil and Wanda (Johnson) Pfrinder, was born in Danbury CT on August 14, 1930 and died on January 25, 2017 after a long and happy life.

She attended Danbury schools, including the one room school house in Miry Brook up until 5th grade, and was a graduate of Danbury High School. Louise graduated from Mount Sinai Hospital School of Nursing in New York City in 1951, where after her graduation she worked as a Head Nurse in their Klingenstein Pavilion Maternity Hospital delivery room. After she married the late Charles R. Rieve, they moved to Danbury to raise their family. She worked in the Danbury Hospital Delivery room and at Fairfield Hills Hospital for 20 years as an RN Supervisor. She was active in VASA, a Swedish American organization and in the Bethel First Congregational Church where she worked for many years as a member of their community outreach program, volunteering for many community projects.

Louise is survived by three sons, Charles and his wife Suzanne, Michael and his wife Jody, and Stuart and his fiancé Ellen Pollack.  She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Eric and his wife Rachel, Stephanie and her husband R. J. Henderson, Connor and his wife Christy, Matthew, Kimberly, Emily, and Alison Rieve.  She also left behind three great-grandchildren, Hannah, Joseph, and Jacob.

A memorial service will be held at the Bethel First Congregational Church, Tuesday morning at 11:00. Cremation will be at the direction of the family, and per her request, her ashes will be buried in the family plot at Wooster Cemetery, Danbury.

The family will receive friends at the Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Ave., Bethel, CT Monday evening from 5:00 to 7:00.
