Emilio Olabarrieta, 74, of New Milford, CT., died on September 30, 2018. He was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on January 29, 1944 and moved to the states over thirty years ago. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife Annette, his sister, Ada, his children, Aixa Marie(Jose), Naila,(Javier), Emilio Raphael (Julio), Aubrey (Scott), and grandchildren Andrea Paola, JoseEmilio, Isaac, and several cousins. He loved all of his family and was always there for them. Until his retirement, he was a Commercial Lender and later a Residential Loan Officer at Union Savings Bank. Prior to his banking years, Emilio worked for the U.S. Small Business Administration, as a lender as well as a disaster relief lender during some of the worst storms and hurricanes which hit our nation. He loved helping people, providing guidance to those in business, or those purchasing a home, or rebuilding their lives after the storms. He loved travelling and visited many places, but Cape Cod was his favorite. He valued his family, friends, and his heritage, never forgetting where he came from, while fully embracing his life here.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Church, 26 Chestnutland Road, New Milford, CT. at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 5, 2018. There are no calling hours. Burial will take place at the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, 86 Fort Hill Rd., New Milford, CT. following Mass.
