Cassandra Lee (Stansberry) DeAlessio passed away peacefully on Sunday November 26, 2017.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband George DeAlessio of 43 years. 

Cassandra was born in West Virginia to Francis “Jack” Stansberry and Mildred “Millie” McMullin Stansberry and moved to Norwalk, CT and grew up there.  After marrying George in 1969, they settled in Washington, CT where Cassandra was a school bus driver for over 30 years for Region 12.  Cassandra loved driving the elementary children, long walks in the country and was a devoted Yankees fan.

She leaves behind her son: Gabriel DeAlessio and his wife Lisa of Minnesota, daughter: Jillian Dittrich and her husband Charley of Pennsylvania, son: Charles “Boomer” DeAlessio and his girlfriend Sara Spillane of New York, four grandchildren and her brother: Mark Stansberry of Washington, CT.

The family will receive friends at the Colonial Funeral Home, 87 Park Lane Rd., New Milford, CT on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

A graveside service will be held at St. Francis Cemetery, Fort Hill Rd., New Milford Saturday at 10:00 AM. Attendees are invited to gather directly at the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ronald McDonald House charities which supported Cassandra’s granddaughter’s family in their time of need.  (https://www.rmhc.org/)
