Dennis E. Kubisek, 75 of Bethel, CT passed away on March 26th, 2024 after a yearlong battle with Bladder cancer.
He was born in Danbury, CT on May 5, 1948, son of the late Paul and Myrtle (Whitlock) Kubisek. He lived in Danbury most of his life and was a 1968 graduate of Henry Abbott Tech School, from the Auto Mechanics Shop. He turned to Carpentry as his life’s trade, working for several local contractors throughout his career.
Dennis taught himself to play the guitar and enjoyed country music and attended many concerts over the years. He also enjoyed horseback riding and owned and boarded his horse locally at Lollipop Stables for several years in New Fairfield, CT. Dennis enjoyed collecting and shooting guns for many years. He also loved going to his cabin in Vermont and loved to travel with his longtime girlfriend Myrna Barra. He enjoyed to read and study history. Along with these interests, he could be found every Saturday night in Bethel at the Sycamore Restaurant & Carhop, looking at all the incredible old cars and swapping stories with the car owners.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his 3 brothers: Bernard, Raymond & Thomas Kubisek; his girlfriend: Myrna Barra and his brother-in-law: John “Jack” McLaughlin.
He is survived his 2 sisters: Janet Reynolds and her husband Bill, Loretta McLaughlin and sister-in-law Judy Kubisek. He is also survived by his nephew: Bruce Kubisek and his wife Naomi; his great niece: Lindsey Fish and her husband Kyle and several other nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many cousins.
A Graveside service will be held at Wooster Cemetery, Danbury, Saturday April 13, 2024 at 3:00 PM. Attendees are requested to gather at section 2 of the cemetery for the service, which can be found in the cemetery overlooking Tamarac Ave..
There are no calling hours. The Bethel Funeral Home, is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Regional Hospice, Danbury or the American Cancer Society in his name.
