William Joseph Romano, age 70, of Wallingford, CT died Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was the husband of Brenda (Gaylord) Romano.

Bill was born in New Haven, CT, February 8, 1946, son of the late Salvatore and Roselina (DiChello) Romano. After school he served in the United States Navy during the Viet Nam War. He worked at the U.S. Postal Service in Wallingford and also owned Tanning Salons in Wallingford and Southington before his retirement. Bill loved camping and his dogs.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his step-children: Sherry Barry and her husband Daniel of Wolcott, CT, Sara McShane and her husband Kevin of San Diego, CA, Matthew Amaral and his wife Dawnielle of Southbury, CT; grandchildren: Caitlyn, Dan Jr., & Ava Barry, Savahna & Kaden McShane. He is also survived by his dogs: Roxie and Magie.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to an animal charity or shelter of one’s choice.

The family will receive friends at the Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Ave., Bethel Tuesday, July 5, 2016 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. Burial will be private at Elmwood Cemetery, Bethel.
