Vada May (Parks) Markward, age 83, of Bethel, CT died Sunday October 23, 2016 at The Regional Hospice Center, Danbury. She was the widow of Rayburn S. Markward, Jr.

She was born in Stamford, CT, May 31, 1930, daughter of the late Guy Samuel and Lurlin (McKenney) Parks. Formerly of Stamford, she moved to Bethel in 1963. Vada worked for many years in the Bethel Public Schools in their Cafeterias. She was a life-time Avon Lady.

Vada is survived by her sons: Rayburn S. Markward, III and his wife Joanna of Bethel, CT, Jeffrey A. Markward and his wife Aimee of Southbury, CT, Glenn A. Markward and his wife Donna of East Hampton, CT; 2 brothers: Kenneth Parks of Readfield, ME, James Parks of Norwalk, CT; 10 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren.

A Graveside Service will be held at Fairfield Memorial Park, Stamford, CT Thursday October 27, 2016.
