May 16, 2018 In reading the UMass Lowell Magazine I was saddened to see the passing of Tom Conetta. Tom holds a special place in my heart and my mind as he was the Best Man at my wedding. As a mater of fact he was the only guest at my wedding because my wife of 46 years and I decided to get married in a hurry in order to take her with me on assignment to Guam. Tom had a tremendous sense of humor and was a genuinely good person. When I think back to my LTI days and the fraternity we were both a member of, I can't help but think of Tom. Please accept my deepest condolences to all his family and friends.

Tom was a cousin of mine and helped out in my father's family business quite often before embarking on his own career. He was always welcomed in our home and he went off to have a great family and a career. I even remember him painting/taring the wooden gutters of my parents' home in Stamford. He will definitely be missed.

Dear Pat,
We are deeply saddened to hear about your loss. Tom was a great friend, a Happy and charming person who never allowed anything in life bother him and spread a lot of happiness and positive feeling around. As a dear friend of Tom through his Ciba days I had the good fortune of getting to know Tom as a great coworker, friend and a mentor. I will miss him dearly and our prayers are with you and your family during these difficult days and may God grant you the needed comfort to cope with this unbearable loss

Pat, Kate, Todd, David, Barbara & Donald,

If there’s a better man out there than Tom Conetta, I haven’t come across him. I made my first friend when I was 3 years old, and he was the best friend I ever had. My deepest sympathies and thoughts are with you.
