Marguerite Smith age 78 of Woodbridge formerly of New Milford and the Waterbury area passed away Thursday May 18, 2017 at Griffin Hospital.

Marguerite was born February 16, 1939 in Danbury, CT a daughter of the late Harold and Pauline (Dixon) Edwards. She was a 1957 graduate of Woodbury High School. Marguerite was employed by Keri-sun Corporation and the Department of Environmental Protection, retiring in 2003. She was a member of Winona Rebekah Lodge and Nosahogen Odd Fellows Lodge in Waterbury, an associate member of Palm Rebekah Lodge in New Milford and served as President of the Rebekah Assembly of Connecticut 2009-2010. Marguerite enjoyed traveling, playing card games and dinners out with the Prospect Senior Center.

Marguerite is survived by her daughter, Dawn M. Smith, her husband Joel and their daughters; Kaitlyn Nicole and Felicia Marie; her son Clark W. Smith and his children Lane Warren and Hannah Marie; 3 sisters Dorothy Rosengrant; Mary Nelson and Grace Edwards and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by 2 brothers Billy and Harold Edwards and a sister Janet Grace Edwards.

Family will receive friends at the Colonial Funeral Home 87 Park Lane RD, New Milford, Sunday May 21, 2017 from 5-7 PM; with a Rebekah service at 6:00 and Prayer service at 7:00PM. A Graveside service will be held at Center Cemetery on Monday May 22, 2017 at 11:00am.
