Joseph Gerard “Jerry” Hill, age 67 of Bethel, passed away Saturday August 27, 2016 at Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of Suzanne (James) Hill.

Jerry was born March 16, 1949 in Scranton, PA, a son of the late Vaughn and Elizabeth (Gallagher) Hill. He attended Scranton area schools and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of New Haven. Jerry was employed as a reinsurance accountant for the New York State Insurance Department Liquidation Bureau, retiring in 2005. He has been a resident of Bethel for many years and was a parishioner of Saint Mary Roman Catholic Church.

In addition to his wife, Jerry is survived by a son Timothy Hill and his wife Erinn of Little Silver, NJ; a daughter, Mary Elizabeth  (Maribeth) White and her husband Ron of Corona, CA; three sisters Elizabeth Gowarty, Vaughan Puhalla and Ann Puhalla all of Scranton, PA; three grandchildren Penny, Abby and Tommy; brother-in-law Richard James of Doylestown, PA; sister-in-law Nancy Kvaka of Scranton, PA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Jerry was loved by, and will be missed by all.

There are no calling hours.

A Memorial Mass will be held Thursday, September 1, 2016 in St Mary Church Bethel at 12 noon.
