JACK DUNLAP SR. 86, of Candlewood Valley Health and

Rehabilitation Center of New Milford went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 3, 2016.  He was the Loving husband of his sweetheart of 50 years, Rose J Miles Dunlap who preceded him in death in 2000.

Jack was born on April 15, 1930 in Danbury, CT to the late William D. and Hazel R Lattin Dunlap. He was a graduate of Danbury High School and proudly served 10 years in the United States Marine Corps. He was a graduate of the Porter and Chester Institute for architecture, which was his longtime passion. He was a longtime resident of Brooks Quarry in Brookfield, CT and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of West Redding, CT His greatest joys were family get-togethers, or as he so lovingly called them,

”Shindigs”. Jack loved to go joy riding and knew every ”short cut” from his many years as a chauffeur. He was truly a”Jack of all trades”. And whether he was detailing his car,working outdoors or making his house a home, he loved working with his hands! Jack was Greatly Loved and will be deeply missed!

Jack is survived by his children, Jack and (wife) Cookie Dunlap of St.Petersburg, FL; Sheryl and (husband) Don Fredericks of Danbury, CT; Doreen Dunlap of Torrington, CT; Jeff and (wife) Lisa Dunlap of Venice, FL; Cathy and (husband) Tim Freehling of Pittsfield, PA; 18 Grandchildren; 25 Great Grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends at the Colonial Funeral Home, 87 Park Lane Road, New Milford, CT on Friday, September 9, 2016 from 10-11 am.  Service will be held in the Colonial Funeral Home at 11:00 am, private burial will follow at Wooster Cemetery, Danbury, CT.
