Helen Middleton passed peacefully at the age of 102 into the arms of our Lord on Sunday, May 7th, 2017.

She was a lifelong resident of Danbury and New Fairfield. She graduated from Danbury High School in 1932 and attended Grandall’s Secretarial School. She shared her life with her loving husband, John Middleton until his passing in 1996. She will be laid to rest beside him in Mountain View Cemetery in New Fairfield.

Helen was a longtime member of The New Fairfield Congregational Church. It was a pillar in her life and that of her family. She was active in many church organizations during her life, including The Women’s Church Club where she was president well into her nineties. Her creative talents were diverse. She was an accomplished seamstress, quilter, artist and much more. She never hesitated to volunteer for functions in the church or the community when her talent was needed. Her devotion to her husband and family were of the utmost importance to her and from this she never waivered. Her love of gardening kept her in touch with God’s wonderful creations and providing her with a deep appreciation for our earth.

She is survived by her two sons: John Middleton of Tampa, Florida and Lee Middleton of Brooksville Florida. She was a grandmother of three, a great grandmother of four and a great great grandmother of one.

She will be greatly missed but her spirit, sweet smile, and her sense of humor will always remain in our hearts. Until we meet again, may God bless you as you enter his Kingdom.

The funeral will be held at the New Fairfield Congregational Church, 20 Gillotti Rd., New Fairfield Friday, May 12th at 12:00 Noon. The family will receive friends at the church, preceding the service from 11:00 to 12:00. Burial in Mountain View Cemetery will follow the service.
