Hazel Louise (Tomczyk) Cherkowsky Taylor, age 70 of Ormond Beach, FL, formerly of Bethel, CT, died Monday, October 2, 2017 in Daytona Beach, FL.

Hazel was born on January 27, 1947 in Portchester, NY. daughter of the late Frank and Ruth (VanTine) Tomczyk of Riverside, CT. 

Hazel will always be remembered for being a caring, loving and kind woman to everyone around her.

In addition to her companion of six years, Stephen Holcombe, Hazel is survived by her three daughters, Cindy Cherkowsky of Ormond Beach, FL, Diane Nogles of Hopewell Junction, NY, and Janice Guckel and her husband, Mark of Charlotte, NC. She also leaves behind her twin sister, Trudy Paight of Stamford, CT and sister, Carolyn Tomczyk of Torrington, CT, along with her four grandchildren, Faith, Matthew, Jackson, and Samantha. She is also survived by her nieces and nephew including, great-niece and great nephews.

The funeral will be held at the Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Ave., Bethel, Wednesday morning starting with a brief viewing time at 10:30am followed directly by the service at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Center Cemetery, Bethel.
