Harry H. Taylor, Jr. was reunited with his beloved Bianka on May 24, 2017.

Harry was born November 9, 1930, in New Milford, CT, the only child of Harry Taylor, Sr. and Irene (Armstrong) Taylor.

A lifelong New Milford resident, Harry attended New Milford public schools, graduating from New Milford High School in 1948. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 1952 and served until 1954. He returned home to New Milford and married Bianka Seifert and started a family.

His working career began at age 14, sweeping and stocking shelves at H. H. Taylor & Son. In 1970, Harry became president of the company and remained so until his passing.

Harry served the community in many ways. He was a trustee of John Pettibone Memorial Scholarship fund for many years. He was also a member of the New Milford Board of Finance, serving as its chairman for five years. He was a long term member of the Water Witch Hose Co. #2, serving as chief in 1969. He was a long term director and past president of the New Milford Center Cemetery Association.

Harry was also very active in professional associations. He was a member and past president of the Connecticut Lumber Dealers Association, member and past president of the Northeastern Retail Lumber Association, and a director of the National Lumber & Building Materials Dealers Association.

Harry will be sorely missed by his two daughters, Susan Sennello and Diane Taylor. He is also survived by his five grandsons, Mike and Chris Sennello, and Dan, Matt and Tim Lewis. He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Bianka, him in 2013.  Holidays will never be the same without Harry’s signature brandied alexanders and bacon wrapped dates. 

Calling hours are on Monday, May 29, 2017 from 5pm – 7pm at the Colonial Funeral Home in New Milford. A private service will be arranged at the convenience of the family.
