George Krizan

May 29, 1923 ~ December 14, 2016 (age 93) 93 Years Old

      George Krizan, 93, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on December 14, 2016. George, born May 29, 1923, was a lifelong Danbury resident and an active member of the community.
      George’s greatest happiness came from spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Marlene, and their five children: Ken (Tucsi) Krizan of Newtown, Kathleen (Timothy) Shea of Bethel, Kevin (Dawn) Krizan of Bethel, Kerry Krizan of Danbury, and Randy (Veronica) Krizan of Bethel. Affectionately known as ‘Dedo’, he is also survived by 13 grandchildren: Timothy, Kate, Timothy, Kelsey, Brittany, Ashley, Jennifer, Kevin, Christopher, Mike, Tristan, Silas, and Aiden; and one great- grandson, Cian. George was loved by numerous nieces, nephews, and godchildren. He will be missed by his siblings: Elizabeth Krizan, Cris Musgrave, and Paula Scozzafava all of Danbury, Emil Krizan of Monroe, Daniel Krizan of New Milford; as well as in-laws Vivian and Marie Krizan of Danbury, John Scozzafava of Danbury, Nancy Krizan of New Milford, and Donald (Johnny) Walsh of Florida. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings Anna, John, Paul, Stephen, Martin, Samuel Krizan and Susan Henderson, as well as lifelong friends Ethel and Steve Omasta. He is also predeceased by his in-laws Judy and Albert Cipolla, Robert Henderson, Carol Krizan, Cathy Krizan, and Ann Krizan.

      George was a devoted member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and served over 70 years as a member of Independent Hose Co. #4 Fire Department in Danbury. After retiring from many years at Kimberly Clark, George spent his time playing golf at Richter Park and wintering in Ft. Myers, Florida. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

      The family will receive friends on Monday, December 19 between 10:00 and 11:00 A.M. immediately followed by a service, both of which will take place at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.  Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. All are welcome to attend. In Lieu of flowers, please make donations to Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church in Danbury or Connecticut Burns Care Foundation in Milford, CT.
