Bartley Joseph Muldoon, 75, died unexpectedly on Sunday, October 30, 2016.  Born in Hartford, Bart lived his entire life in Connecticut and was a 48 year resident of Bethel.  Bart attended Mount Saint Charles Academy in Woonsocket Rhode Island and graduated from Stamford High School.  He graduated McAllister’s School of Embalming in NYC in 1962, and graduated from the Martinsville School of Farriery in Virginia in 1970. An avid lover of horses he shod race horses at Belmont Park until he obtained his license to train thoroughbred horses in four states.  Bart was a hard worker spending the last 30 years working in construction driving a mixer for Genovese Co., and then O&G Industries. Rarely did he take a day off but when he did he enjoyed time in Cape Cod and Florida. Bart loved classic cars, steaks and good cigars.  An early riser, sunrise was his favorite time of day.

 Bart is survived by his wife Kathleen.  Together they would have celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on November 12th.  He is also survived by his two daughters Bridget Perun and Sharon Attick along with son-in-law David Attick and two grandchildren, Lukas Perun and Abigail Attick.  He is also survived by several cousins.

 A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, Bethel, Monday November 7th at 10 AM.  The family will receive friends at the Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Ave, Bethel, Sunday from 3 to 5 PM.
