Barbara E. Keeler, age 76, of Bethel, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Bethel Health Care, after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer’s. She was the wife of Malcom Keeler. Barbara was born December 13, 1940 in Long Island City, New York, a daughter of the late William and Elna (Post) Odell. She grew up in Mt. Vernon, New York. Barbara enjoyed reading books, music and the arts. In her younger years, she was a painter and played the harmonica On February 20, 1965 she married her loving husband, Malcom. A stay at home mom, Barbara had an off-beat sense of humor, often finding it in stressful situations. In addition to her husband of 52 years, Barbara is survived by three sons: Kenneth, Jeffrey and Thomas, as well as several, cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday July 29, 2017 from 5 until 8 PM at the Bethel Funeral Home 215 Greenwood Ave., Bethel. In lieu of flowers, donations made be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Connecticut Chapter 200 Executive Blvd S, #4b, Southington, CT 06489-1058
