ALICIA MORA ALVAREZ

Born January 30, 1932 in Costa Rica, was a long time resident of Connecticut.

On Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 11:11PM, Alicia died in her sleep with her daughter at her bedside. She had struggled with heart disease for some time, but passed away peacefully.

Although a homemaker for a majority of her life, she also enjoyed work at Balsar de la Casa, Swank, and Trafalgar.  Alicia enjoyed artfully sewing stitchworks, gardening, cooking, and playing cards.  Her kindness always showed in the brightness of her eyes and tender smile. She opened her home to those needing a meal and shelter, and never judged.

Alicia had been married to Clarence Alvarez, Sr for many years. She is survived by him, sisters Virginia Stevens (Norwalk, CT) and Julieta Chacon, Isabela Mora, Aracelly Gomes (in Costa Rica), a son Clarence Alvarez, Jr with Jennifer Ryan and their daughter Alexandra (Norwalk, CT), a daughter Marlene Alvarez and her children Saige Goding & Ronin Goding (Bethel, CT), and many nieces, nephews, and other loved ones.

A mass will be held in St.Paul's Church on the Green, on Friday, February 3, 2017 at 2:00 PM followed by a reception at the Parish's hall. Both at located at 60 East Ave., Norwalk, CT

Prayer: God Looked Around His Garden

God looked around His Garden, and found an empty place. He then looked down upon the earth, and saw your tired face.

He put His arms around you, and lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best.

He saw the road was getting rough, and the hills were hard to climb. So He closed your weary eyelids and whispered "Peace be thine."

It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn't go alone. For part of us went with you the day God called you home.
